I can see the pain in your eyes,
See the hurt as people try to comfort you.
You try to fight through it, but you feel like you are losing.
Through the crowd of people you look up once and catch me,
Looking at you with concern and worry.
I have nothing else to ease your pain,
So I smile.
Take my smile and treasure it, for it is kindness.
Keep it, for it will heal your heart.
My smile is all I have to give to you.
No medicine, no therapy,
Just a grin that warms the soul.
A smile that is like a friend who will not forsake you,
And like a memory that cannot be forgotten.
It's all I have to give,
And it's all you need to be uplifted,
And to move on with your life.
